Situated in the heart of a plush residential and business hub, the project is a 1,950 sq ft three-generational family home that aims to create a sense of belonging for all occupants.
Leitmotifs of wood, marble, classic moulding details and accents of hue in the form of textured upholstery create a connective palette in the residence without overwhelming the beholder.
The open plan floor features several sunlight-laden windows that create an inherent warmth and comfort within the space. Neutral-toned furniture amalgamates mid-century modern and embellishes the deep blues of the design.
A montage of monochrome family photographs line the walls and create a veneer of nostalgia. Below, a pale marsala-hued carpet and a nested wooden coffee table sit alongside the television unit.
An adjacent reading nook features a Windsor inspired rocking chair atop an Ikat rug with floor-to-ceiling shelves that scale the height of the room. The voided section of the bookshelf allows the concrete’s rugged texture to peer through, while the other shelves are lined with books, curios and bric-a-brac.
Each family member has their own private bedroom with designs that suit their individual styles and personalities. As an art connoisseur, the daughter’s bedroom is swathed in a concrete finish against the robust weave of the cane headboard. The art displayed within reflects the dynamic scenes within the country.
