architectsAlliance create interconnected three tower neighbourhood in Port Credit, Ontario

‘Bridge House’ is part of the ongoing project to rejuvenate the 72-acre waterfront locale

by Séan Thurgood 23 November 2022

Originally serving as a trading post since 1720, the waterfront location has gradually evolved into a thriving neighbourhood of small businesses, outdoor recreation opportunities, restaurants and a thriving music scene. With access to nearby parks and the lake, it has become popular with visitors and residents alike especially in the hot summer weather.

The new development is formed of three towers, and is aimed at creating a sociable community with plenty of spaces to interact. The three towers are connected by glass bridges which offer views of the nearby waterfront and retail amenities and allow for connection and interaction between the three structures.

Towers clad in glass and masonry pay homage to the industrial origins of the area while creating an elegant figure for the skyline. Landscaped courtyards wrap around the structures with a variety of flora that line paths leading towards the village square in the north and the waterfront to the south.

The tallest two towers stand at 15 and 19-storeys, and both connect to the six-storey East tower on the sixth floor’s hotel-inspired amenity deck. The area features a rooftop swim spa, barbecue and dining areas which face towards Lake Ontario. There is also easy access to a shared coworking space, sauna and fitness centre.

Bridge House is very much rooted in the idea of creating a community where neighbours will have chance encounters. Walking through the block with its open spaces, new courtyard, and careful tower placement, residents will feel welcomed and stumble upon serendipitous moments like seeing their neighbours doing yoga, children running and playing, and people walking to do their errands or go to work.

The tower suites offered range from studios to two-bedroom plus den apartment units designed as condominiums and in townhouses-style, with almost all having a frosted balcony with transparent cutaways at the corners, and many featuring waterfront and park views. 201 suites will be from the North tower and 73 will be in the East tower.

The interiors, designed by Truong Ly Design, will feature open concept floor plans with hallways clad in mirror and glass to create a light and airy atmosphere.
