Located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, just off the Williamsburg Bridge, The Dime is a new, 23-story building architecturally linked to the landmarked Williamsburg Dime Savings Bank built in 1908. The contemporary tower is a mixed-use building that merges live, work, and play: it includes 177 residential units, 105,000 sq ft of office space, as well as 50,000 sq ft of retail space.
With its cohesive design language across the architecture and interiors of its multi-use areas, the building is an exciting debut that elevates the standard for buildings of similar use in the area. The Dime’s façade is composed of white and black terracotta panels that reference the historic banks regal fluted columns alongside glass with black mullions. Its lower floors ‘pinwheel’ off the central tower, each connecting to the four sides of the block, and its curved corners provide a visual link connecting the different façades and provide aesthetic interest.
The Dime’s striking height and floor-to-ceiling windows distinguish it from the surrounding neighborhood, present provides generous light and unobstructed views to all five boroughs of New York City. The building has achieved LEED Silver status and was designed with energy efficiency and sustainability in mind.
Residential amenities include an expansive terrace, community garden, yoga studio, fitness center, basketball court, co-working space, and bar lounge. At the penthouse level, a vintage-style speakeasy lounge looks out over the city. For workers, plenty of lounge and open-air spaces, offers the lifestyle and technology for freelancers, entrepreneurs, creatives and a growing remote workforce.
