Benoy collaborates with Shimao Group to create a “new level of business tourism” for the Zhuhai artificial island port, Guangzhou Province, China. The aim of the project is to build a future living complex for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao one-hour living circle, and to add a world-class super landmark to the Greater Bay Area which is an important node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for transportation, economics and culture hubs.
The site sits total 38112 sq m, and exceeds the GFA 480,000 sq m. It integrates with a shopping center, transportation hubs, convention center, luxury hotel cluster, serviced apartments, and other functions.
The design is based on three core dimensions: iconic image, topical content and commercial SCI-FI atmosphere which aims to skillfully weave together diverse functions to form a distinct image. A careful arrangement of functions is planned to create a multifunctional neighborhood that is not only fully pedestrian friendly, but also accommodates vehicles to freely travel through this cross-border island and gateway area. Energizing the commercial and entertainment facilities in the Zhuhai coastal area, the world-class business district is given an unforgettable skyline and beautiful landscape.
The mixed-use itself combines physical space and user experience, with both physical and transcendent properties. The project is positioning to be a super mixed-use with “super business + super entertainment + super culture”.
