Ningbo Deji Historic Street Regeneration by Benoy
Ningbo Deji Historic Street Regeneration Project is a comprehensive modernized rebuild for the traditional Chinese Shikumen building type, located in ‘Deji Lane’ in Ningbo, China. ‘Deji Lane’ contains dozens of traditional Shikumen style buildings in various heritage conditions and as well as several historic lanes, which date back to the Republic of China era. The regeneration aims to emphasize the historic texture of ‘Deji Lane’ and the essence of Ningbo Shikumen culture. Through integrated protection, renovation and construction, the traditional and new buildings complement each other and co-exist in harmony. This historical and cultural treasure of the city will be reactivated, which represents the new commercial landmark of Ningbo.

This is the perfect example of development versus historic preservation. They have strategically saved the structures that represent the heritage of the culture while bringing in a new typology of structures that clearly differentiate themselves.
Suffolk Downs Master Plan by CBT
The Suffolk Downs master plan will transform the 161-acre former horse racing facility into a resilient, transit-oriented, mixed-use development, harnessing existing natural resources to introduce a vibrant coastal community. Currently, an inaccessible expanse of underutilized land, the site divides two neighbouring communities. The new development plan reclaims valuable space for community use with 10,000 units of housing, nearly 6 million sq ft of life science, office, hotel and retail space, plus significant transit infrastructure and 40 acres of open space.

CRRC Qingdao Si Fang Locomotive Park Landscape Design by Antao Design
Located in Shandong Qingdao Hangzhou Road No. 16 in Qingdao car factory is praised as the locomotive of the Republic "cradle", through a hundred years of wind and rain history, now, the former four-car factory has stopped production function, the main body manufacturing plant relocation to Cheng Yang spines flood beach.
The rows of old factories and sections of old railway tracks on Hangzhou Road still seem to tell the story of those momentous days.

Powerful concept to reuse and return to the park in the form of art installations and sculptures of old machinery.
Tharkanovo Eco-Park: A Journey through the Russian Nature by Juul | Frost Architects
The holistic design concept for the Tarkhanovo park reconnects the park to the city through a transformative landscape design. A design, that accentuates the bio-topes and biodiversity of the park and promotes social-, physical- and mental well-being.
A visit to the park is an eye-opener and poetic journey through different biotopes and landscape spaces. A journey, that provides a new understanding of Russian nature, and offers new experiences and social activities throughout all seasons of the year.

Spoorzone Dordrecht by Mecanoo
Situated in the heart of nature in the Dutch Delta, Dordrecht is a historic city of innovation, trade, maritime industry and culture. Both city and region are growing and facing major spatial challenges. The Spoorzone Dordrecht vision (Railway zone) outlines a future for the city by 2040. This growth is about an increase in housing, exciting public spaces and parks, additional stations, new walking and cycle paths, schools, cultural events and places to stay.

An elegant example of repairing and enhancing urban transport fractures and rebalancing in favour of the human over cars/trains.
Nantou Ancient Town is located at the core area of Nanshan District, Shenzhen, with a history of 1700 years. Yet nowadays it has become a low-quality urban village. The project faces the dilemma between the different expectations of the client of developers and the government. Hence the renovation needs to balance the modern needs and history protection.

A well-considered renovation masterplan that looks at the micro and macro scale of interventions.

The Diriyah Gate master plan has been conceived around the UNESCO World Heritage site of At Turaif which represents the original capital of the modern Saudi Kingdom. It is one of the first major settlements and the birthplace of the ruling Al Saud family.
The development is located to the west of Riyadh along the Wadi Hanifah corridor.
