First and tallest skyscraper on Bulgarian seaside

Astral Tower, by STARH architects, is the highest building in Varna

by Georgina Johnston 25 February 2021 Tall Buildings

Locked between two main boulevards of the city, Astral Tower is within a walking distance of public and institutional buildings, as well as in close proximity from the historical centre.

As a mixed-use tall building, the project’s concept is to offer a way of inhabiting that is co-related with nowadays’ everchanging daily dynamics. The space includes residential and office spaces, a four star hotel, a mall, supermarket, gym, restaurant and café, healthcare services bank offices.

The design is contemporary and distinctive with rounded corners along the full height and attenuated vertical tectonics giving the illusion of a disappearing building silhouette. In this way, the building itself fits in the most un-obstructive way into the context with its size.

The HVAC system eliminates the need of positioning additional technical levels along the tower. Using a VRF three pipe system provides individual control of the temperature through a heat recovery process and allows delivering of additional fresh and clean air that helps natural ventilation as well.

High-speed elevators and garbage chute systems are included in the design as well as an area of green roof and a public green roof terrace.

All 40 floors have a 360° view that offers views towards the Black Sea and the city. There is parking for residents and visitors in five underground levels.
