London-based architecture and interiors company, TR Studio, have unveiled the transformation of a private residential property off the King’s Road in Chelsea, London. The property is located on a road featuring vivid multicoloured houses, which the building reflects from a redesigned layout with bold interiors and bespoke furnishings that create an excellent environment in which to relax and entertain in.
TR Studio carried out extensive architectural alterations over a two year project, including excavating and extending the whole lower ground floor in order to create a harmonious living, dining and kitchen level. The space was previously a bijou, unutilised patio and was turned into a larger kitchen and dining area, as well as installing a glass roof that maximises natural daylight.
The client intended for the interior to be bold and embrace vibrant colour schemes, choosing a deep purple study and an inky green master bedroom. The rooms display a playfulness in colour which is reflected in a series of carefully placed roof lights that bring natural light into each floor. As the client had primarily lived outside of London, they desired to create an escape from the country through an urban yet inviting style. It features a living area with antique brass-accented light fixtures and an ebony timber sideboard with bronze detailing, which are softened by low-level cabinets painted in Green Smoke by Farrow & Ball, as well as an orange-flecked beige sofa that creates an electric but refined atmosphere.
The design featured a beautiful bar unit with routed timber and curved edges to capture the client’s spirit for entertaining. To create a sense of refinement, they designed a bespoke light-stained oak dining table and routed timber linen drawer and marble sink with black accents which created a warm and opulent tone and ambience. The exterior of the property was coated in Farrow & Ball’s Cinder Rose to keep with the bright and varied houses of the street.
