On an unassuming city street with the distinction of hosting a cable car route, Coffee Movement - Rapt Studio is a small space that’s turning out to have a big impact. The ensuing design is inviting, warm, and approachable that prioritizes human connections. There’s no wall of espresso machines and pastry cases between the barista and the customer here, but instead an uncluttered area for meaningful personal interactions.
Ryogoku is cherished for a century as the first station of the Sobu Line train. The Ryogokubashi Tea House - cmyk Interior & Product is created in the renewal project of the station, brought in to provide comforting Honyamacha tea to its short-dwellers. The elevation plan spans with length in a narrow corridor, which draws designs from the concept, Tori-Doma (seen in old peasant housing called Long Houses), which is a traditional Japanese townhouse courtyard, and happens to be the same shape.
Located in the newly opened Waldorf Astoria Maldives and inspired by a tree-house, Terra, Waldorf Astoria Maldives - Stickman Tribe is the highest point on the island. The name Terra was chosen for the meaning in Latin which translates to Earth or Land, the recreation of the tree-house is not literal, but a series of platforms nestled around a vast canopy of foliage.A canopy of greenery crowns the central structure housing the toilet and dispense bar. The platforms are hidden within the dense bamboo forest and are strategically layered to optimize keyhole views for the guests.
Inspired by the residences of Shanghainese noble along the cloistered laneway, Li Long - Stickman Tribe is perched on the turquoise waters of the picturesque Ithaafushi island. Intimate, charming and authentic, Li Long is the signature Chinese restaurant on the island. A delicate mix of warm and natural base palette with refined brass detailing and eclectic textiles create an effortlessly upscale and inviting atmosphere throughout.
From the outset, the goal of Hudson Yards Grill - Bentel & Bentel, Architects/Planners AIA was to create a large high-volume restaurant which delivered great food quality in an engaging, energetic environment. The interior experience was to be grand on first impression as suits a restaurant of almost 250 seats. But the table experience needed to be intimate, marked by beautiful materials, great art and the buzz of an open kitchen.
