These entries demonstrate how energy saving strategies benefit not only the environment, but clients as well.

Glorieta Insurgentes Tower - CIMET Arquitectos stands as a landmark in Mexico City with an elegant and timeless design. The Tower has direct access to the plaza through a new pedestrian path underground, encouraging the use of public transport in a city where movement is a major issue. The concept of the project includes comfort, functionality, sustainability and energy efficiency with LEED Platinum Certification, transit oriented development with TOD Standard Silver Certification, seismic resilience, construction quality and ease of maintenance.

The sweeping roof design of the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station - Aedas encourages people to walk up the gentle paths to the top through a densely vegetated sculpture garden and landscaped extension of the green below. The sweeping, curved roof is key to the passive energy performance of the station, with cool air sinking to its lower levels. The station acquires a thermal stratification energy saving strategy with cool air being supplied from the floor which allows tempered air to reach up to humans' height, so as to achieve thermal comfort and energy saving at the same time.
