The funeral hall completed in Ushiku-shi, Ibaraki in Japan on May 17, 2019 has an area of 200m2 and is located in the second floor of the 3-story building. The client has 34 funeral facilities in Ibaraki. Usually local people use these facilities, so it becomes necessary to build relations with local people friendly.
A funeral hall is a place of the last parting with the deceased, that is why it becomes the most important elements to heal a heart, to care a heart, to warm a heart. The design theme is to create the space to let the heart of people feel a calmness.
The pillars standing orderly beautifully are divided and intersect and wrap up the whole space softly like trees at all. These trees light up from the steps like a holy forest. We do the last parting with one life in a holy forest which brings up life and follow ceaselessly.
