Ningbo Yinzhou Civic Center - ARCHIMORPHIC Inc is an entry in the Civic category at the 2019 World Architecture News Awards.

One of the most iconic buildings in Yinzhou District - our project Ningbo Yinzhou Civic Center is located in the core area of eastern Ningbo, China.

With 7 floors above ground and 2 floors underground, the building height is 36.45 meters. The total floor area is 32,935 square meters.
The project includes the administrative service center (including public services), the public trading center, the public affairs handling center, the agency center, a conference center, and a centralized archive center. The estimated staff amount is about 550 and daily visitor amount will be around 3000.

Aside from the functionality, the building will be serving as the government’s external image. The design approach is to create modern and minimal building forms that express the sense of solemnity within the program.

Made up of a glass curtain wall and aluminum vertical blinds, the reflective box reflects the internal functions of the building while meeting the needs of natural lighting as well as effectively blocking the western sun exposure.

There are also efforts to implement the principles of green building design in terms of natural ventilation, efficient building systems, and green roof systems. The green roof terraces and outdoor gardens have been created by subtracting portions of the top floors building massing. Adjacent tower views are given a green image for the local governmental agencies.

The World Architecture News Awards showcase the best international design in both current and future projects. All 2019 entries can be seen here.
