Nature and circles for WIN’s experiential design

The environment is cited as inspiration for many of this year’s entries in WIN’s Experiential design category.

The Shimao Foshan Wangyue Sales Center is located in Lingnan and the designer has used elements of ancient rhyme as inspiration for the elegant treatment of the space. Using the light of the day and night, it reflects the afterglow of the setting sun, the environment, light and shadow, and memorable artifacts.

The overall project surrounding the Chengdu Zhongzhou Mileage Sales Center was planned to incorporate three important elements; the environment, ecology and the future. By working through these points during the first early planning and design stage, the building has achieved low energy consumption, high energy efficiency, less pollution, and minimize the use of non-renewable resources. New material technologies have also been incorporated.

The Nanning Wuxiang Shimao Center Sales office was built to support people in their search for a more harmonious way of life involving nourishment from nature.  The designers wanted to reflect memories of childhood happiness while embracing the future, which they felt should be ‘free-flowing, transparent, and obscure yet fast, dynamic and uncertain’.

The overall exterior wall of the Circle project is square and faces the sky whilst in the interior space a circle mould forms the overall concept.  Some 40 types of circles in different sizes were applied to form the overall interior space layout with the sand table in the center of the building the biggest circle in the building. A main light is set in a big circle in the building’s centre and light pours down like a waterfall becoming the luminous point of the whole building.
