A landscape-based community center with a varied program forming the heart of a large residential development. The site is adjacent to a large wetland park, our concept was to bring the qualities of the park into the development and make a public arena for interaction within the framework of a "natural" setting, using water and landscaping as our main elements. At the same time we had an observation point as part of the program which we have used to create a vertical path integrating the ground level with a 36 meter tall observation platform in the form of a double helix structure. The architecture is using the site twice by making the roof a usable space, creating arenas for events and local program including cafes , galleries and urban agriculture gardens to be operated as part of the curriculum in the neighbourhood schools. The double helix structure towards the wetland area gives 360 degrees overview of the neighbourhood as one walks up to the panoramic gallery at top.
