The Hide Hotel, Flims - Stylt Trampoli AB is an entry in the Hotels, bed-and-breakfast facilities and other overnight accommodation category at the 2019 World Interiors News Awards.

The village of Flims is spectacularly located in the Glarus Alps in the eastern part of Switzerland, offering an unbeatable range of leisure activities all year round. Overlooking the village, the newbuilt Stenna Flims is an innovative experience centre with a great variety of activities and services, and fantastic ski-in/ski-out possibilities.

This was where Swedish design agency Stylt created The Hide, an independent hotel and a re-thought mountain resort where the design is intendedly a clear contrast to the modernistic and somewhat restrained architecture of the Stenna building.

The hotel fuses progressive alpinist interiors with cool luxe and voguish sophistication. It features 47 warm and generous guestrooms, a deli, a restaurant, spa and an outdoor terrace, as well as a mountain concierge to facilitate equipment rentals, activity planning, and insider knowledge of the area.

Much of the interior design, patterns and colours are inspired by the surrounding nature and the geodes of the Alps, the partially hollow rocks that hides a sparkling microcosm of colourful minerals. In the same way, The Hide holds the unexpected, just waiting to be discovered. It flirts with the cosy traditions of the Alps paired with a narrative of fresh design tones, botanicals and natural materials, as well as the clear, sharp and powerful colours of the geodes.

Today, The Hide stands as a beacon of welcome, inspiration, relaxation, and social connection in Flims, a new meeting place for hotel guests and locals alike.
