Jeffrey Beers International has envisioned the newest Atlantis in Sanya China as a sprawling, glamorously modern venue rising from the vastness of the South China Sea. It is an island oasis like nothing seen before, an otherworldly jewel seemingly annealed by the forces of lightning and water.
The new aesthetics is modern, yet flamboyant in spirit. Water’s dual quality of nurture and disruption is embedded in the space, creating a sense of tension among each facet of the structure. From the lobby’s stylized iconoclastic driftwood bench to the dancing screen of the fascia, every component of the space are delicately choreographed to perform a balancing act. The valiant torqued columns, remind one of a tornado in a frozen state but still carries with it an unnerving hint of movement. The subtle reference to water will be carried through within the space whether taking shape as a ripple, a wave, or a raindrop. As you meander around the environment, gaze at the floors, walls and ceilings, the allusion to the explosive strength and quiet grace of water would be palpable.
The New Atlantis is poised to gaze forward and create meaningful connections with the local culture while sharing its legendary plethora of water immersive experiences. These memorable encounters will be profoundly etched in the guests’ minds as it embarks on a journey that continues to celebrate the awe inspiring beauty of aquatic life and its source…water.
