At the end of 2016, Mr. Wu and the team of players conducted a nine-month investigation on the domestic and international industry markets and the Guangzhou market: Macro Environmental Analysis PES & Situation Analysis SWOT & Industry Design Level Comparison. They also entrusted Republican Metropolis Architecture to design Not Club, wanting the project to become a new landmark for Chinese bars.
Completed in May 2018 and covering an area of 2,200 square meters, Not Club is a new generation of music bars. “Not” stands for unknown and “Club” stands for the moment. Just like NASA, the designer also chose to use the record as the core of the experience, and designed the entire bar as a spaceship.
They extracted the record, the futuristic, the tear as an element throughout the space, and re-deconstructed the original space with a coherent design approach. The design of new technology elements took out the dull feeling of traditional bars and moved it to a bar that had a feeling of “walking in the future”.
Vinyl record flying saucer interspersed with the external public space that traverses the entire bar. These flying saucers overlap each other, and the lights on the flying saucer change with the rhythm of the music.
In the party area, the designers again used futuristic elements and used a coherent design approach; creating a brand-new space-filled futuristic starship space.
The designers said that some people said it was a vinyl record , UFO or Prometheus, they wanted to create a sensory experience of no-frame, free thinking.
