2019 WIN Awards: Atmosfire - 4SPACE Design

Alison Carter
10 Jun 2019

Atmosfire - 4SPACE Design is an entry in the Bars, restaurants, clubs and caf├ęs category at the 2019 World Interiors News Awards.

As visitors enter AtmosFire restaurant, they will be stunned by the spectacular sight of massive brick brazier spanning from the floor to high ceiling, taking center stage and serving as the focal point of the entire space. Together with the striking open fire barbecue pit, guests will feel entertained and as much a part of the culinary action as they spectate their carnivore feast being prepared.

Terrazzo material has been applied to most of the spaces - floors, walls, tables, and countertops. This was as a result of an understanding of the client’s interior design vision and the ability to achieve the desired contemporary yet classic look.

The ‘broken bricks’ effect on the ceiling and walls creates a shift between the sleek surfaces to an aged appearance to create an atmosphere of classic history in one of the world’s youngest cities where residents and visitors crave a vision of heritage.

The mezzanine floor presents a pleasant surprise as the detail of the upholstery, joinery and finishes is punctuated by perfect lighting to create light yet a calm dining atmosphere

As a final touch and addition to the modern and yet yesteryear design concept, a copper mirror was added to the ground floor ceiling and on the mezzanine wall to give the illusion of space.

4SPACE proudly achieved the client’s brief to perfection in accordance with budget and time, and feels that AtmosFire is more than just a restaurant – it is a dining destination! Atmosfire covers an area of 6,000 sq.ft and was completed in June 2018.
