2019 WAN Awards: Nortis POD Building - FGMF Architects

Nortis POD Building - FGMF Architects is an entry in the Future Projects: Mixed Use category at the 2019 World Architecture News Awards.

When FGMF Architects started the POD project, they wanted something really new in the landscape, with the strength that the Pinheiros neighborhood has and deserves. Something that was not only amazing, but that helped to transform the way they deal with the city. Thus, with a central square on the ground floor, FGMF guide the flow of people into the building, as an eminently urban and active space, but protected from the rhythm of Rebouças Avenue.

The land of 1,607.57 sqm will receive 127 residential units with one parking space each, distributed from the 4th to the 23rd floor of the building. 80 of the units are one bedroom apartments, ranging from 36 sqm up to 72 sqm and 41 units are two bedroom apartments, ranging from 65 sqm to 88sqm, plus six duplex apartments in configurations of one and two bedrooms.

The building will have ample living and leisure spaces distributed by the eighth, twenty-third and twenty-fourth floors, with swimming pools, ballroom, gazebo, gym, spa, sauna, coworking, laundry and others.

In addition to the residential units, POD has a central square on the ground floor surrounded by seven different stores and two floors with commercial rooms, which occupy the second and third floors. The rooms are accessed by walkways overlooking this semi-public space.

Created in 1999, FGMF’s purpose is to produce contemporary architecture without restrictions on the use of materials, construction techniques and scales.
