2019 WIN Awards Entry: Birds Nest - Kris Lin International design

Jessica Evans
20 May 2019

Birds Nest - Kris Lin International design is an entry in the Bars, restaurants, clubs and cafés category at the 2019 World Interiors News Awards.

Based on the geographical characteristics of the project, Kris Lin International apply design elements of exterior oriental garden into the interior space. With application of elements like bridge, flowing water, lotus, plum tree and birds nest on the tree, they form an interior landscape to present respect and inheritance for natural landscape.

The VIP room in the tea club is a rather individual space which needs to be integrated into the overall space. Kris Lin apply the concept of birds nest to harmonize the overall space. First, a 3D model is used to establish the basic modelling of birds nest. Then stainless steel is used to be made into different curving lines to form a stable structure to complete the concept of birds nest. The raised floor and installed water treatment systems such as ventilation, electric power and light current, help to establish waterscape in the interior.

The World Interiors News Awards showcase the best international design in both current and future projects. Entries for the 2019 Awards are now open - for further information and to submit your entry please click here.
