London’s Marriott Hotel was the venue for the the 2017 WAN AWARDS ceremony this week...

The inaugural WAN AWARDS 2017 ceremony took place on 28 February at the London Marriott Hotel just off Grosvenor Square in the heart of the city’s fashionable Mayfair district.

Architects from as far afield as Australia and Ecuador gathered in magnificent surroundings to be the first to hear who had won in each of the categories covered by the WAN AWARDS.

Over 200 architects, designers and clients soaked up the impressive grandeur of a truly unique space and took the opportunity to network and make new friends from across the globe as the evening’s host, historian and TV presenter Suzannah Lipscomb guided the crowd through a roll call of architecture’s best of the best.

Speaking to a packed room at the ceremony, WAN’s Editor in Chief Michael Hammond said:

"Tonight is our first Live Awards Event. It’s no coincidence that just over a year ago, we became part of the Haymarket Media Group so we now have an exciting future to build on our digital decade. We’ve built a great foundation, but in “construction speak”, we’re out of the ground now… and heading upwards…

Only last week our Social Media following passed One Million!  So there has never been a better time to enter the WAN AWARDS, being published through our global network, our winners really do get a place on the world stage!

Going forward, we will be running regional awards; Best in Asia, Best in the Americas and Best in EMEA …as a taster, a few surprise regional winners are being announced later tonight, a new Urban Challenge for 2018 ‘Reclaiming the Streets’, new award categories including Immersive Technology which marks our first foray into the virtual world complete with a brand-new Forum in London this June showcasing the latest in VR/AR and MR technology!"

The evening proved to be a huge success with a truly impressive range of international projects and architects represented on the night.

All 2018 WAN AWARDS categories are open for entry with a special early bird discount available until 29th March. For more information, please click HERE.
