We are delighted to announce that Klein Dytham architecture and studio on site are winners of the WAN Waterfront Award 2017 for their beautiful design of The Picchio Visitors’ Centre and KERA-IKE Rink.
Klein Dytham architecture and studio on site’s design was chosen by our expert jury panel, who viewed a shortlist of six entries before choosing the overall winning design. This year’s judges, chosen for their dedication and expertise in this sector were: Richard Coutts, Co-Founder of Baca Architects Ltd, Gregg Pasquarelli, Principal of SHoP Architects and Paul Thompson, Senior Associate of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
“supple form translates seamlessly between inside and out. With an unassuming aspect and a subtle use of materials, the Picchio Visitors' Centre seems poised to allow the people using it to be the forefront of the experience. It also possesses a supple form that translates seamlessly between inside and out.” Gregg Pasquarelli
“A simple building that plays second fiddle to its extraordinary enhanced landscape, providing the shelter and amenity to utilize this excellently landscaped pond throughout the year. The centre projects an amazing feeling of tranquillity.” Paul Thompson
We would like to congratulate Klein Dytham architecture and studio on site for their truly stunning The Picchio Visitors’ Centre and KERA-IKE Rink. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank not only our judges, but all those who entered the WAN Waterfront Award 2017.
