Created in 2014 by aussie mates Ryan De Remer & Luke Woodard, Sweatshop is a Melbourne inspired cafe / espresso bar in the heart of Williamsburg.

The cafe was designed with building a community as its focus. To bring not only the coffee but the vibe and passion of Australian cafes into the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn. Communal tables and inside/outside transitional spaces create an open and engaging atmosphere where people can relax, chat or spark up an easy conversation over a Flat White or a Smashed Avo.

Luke & Ryan are both designers and run a furniture and interior studio also called Sweatshop, and so the interior was very much a reflection of their own passion for space and the idea of how cafe environments can really become an extension of ones own lifestyle.  The cafe was designed and fabricated all in-house by Sweatshop Design and has very inherent call outs to the owners own aesthetic and vibe for clean and laid back interiors.
