Juicy Design were set the brief to create an Experience of The Future for McDonald’s Australia – to offer the Australian market a new perspective for the McDonald’s brand by creating a fresh, new approach to décor in an entirely new building format.
To utilise their knowledge of the current market and use this to look forward for the next few years, and present what they felt would be relevant to that consumer – to design a ‘Store of the Future’. Juicy were given the limited time of 5-6 weeks for the design process. ‘Experience of the Future’ conjures up endless possibilities of far reaching, yet-to-be-developed technology and service methods. Deciding to build on the existing function & design of the environment has resulted in a tonally fresh, exciting approach to the well known aesthetic of a McDonald’s restaurant. The end result? The Australian McDonald’s market now has an unexpected, designer space - light, natural and contemporary, with fun hints of colour. The development of a unique series of furniture pieces and a new materials palette has created a fresh and current environment.
