'Shenzhen Longgang District Longteng Mixed-Use’ project is rated by Shenzhen Government as ‘one of Shenzhen’s most important projects in 2016’, and central to the rejuvenation of a river park area running through the site, this project was developed following principles of community, sustainability, infrastructural connectivity, retail experience, and modern lifestyle, applied to the local characteristics of Shenzhen. Thanks to this design, the developer, Hazen Real Estate Group, has identified Woods Bagot as one of their key design consultants, leading to multiple collaborations on a number of projects, ranging from a masterplan to retail and interior design.
The project site is located in Longang District, Shenzhen. The site area is approx. 393,000 sq m, comprising for a total GFA of over 1,500,000 sq m, subdivided into office space (300,000 sq m), retail and shopping mall (852,000 sq m) residential communities and facilities, and over 90,000 sq m of green and public space.
The challenge was finding a strategy that would allow the design to blend these programs together and into a new lifestyle and community vision, gradually and seamlessly linking the commercial and urban environments.
Private and human scale neighbourhoods were required by the riverside which would maintain the values of wellness, connectivity, efficiency, value and sustainability.
