Aby Rosen launches new Foster + Partners-designed luxury residential tower in New York City

Aby Rosen's RFR Holding and China's Vanke have launched sales for One Hundred East Fifty Third Street, a new luxury residential tower in New York City designed by Foster + Partners.

The 63-storey development is Vanke's first residential development in New York.  Hines is a co-developer on the project.

With prices starting from $3.35m, the 94 distinctive residences are located adjacent to famed architect Mies van der Rohe's iconic Seagram Building in Midtown Manhattan's cultural district. One Hundred East Fifty Third Street's slender form and minimalist exterior is intended to provide a counterpoint to the Seagram Building's bronze edifice.

All luxury residences are generously proportioned and seamlessly integrated with infrastructure for modern cosmopolitan living, while celebrated interior designer and architect William T. Georgis has been charged with creating a selection of furnishings for both the amenity spaces and the 24-hour attended residential lobby.

"One Hundred East Fifty Third Street's progressive spirit will be extremely compelling to future residents," says RFR Co-Founder Aby Rosen. "Each home is designed for those who have an appreciation of art, architecture and culture, and each unit's systems and finishes are keenly tuned to contemporary living. The combination of timelessness and innovation will resonate with our future residents, who promise to form a community of diverse, yet uniquely discerning neighbours."

Residents will be able to walk to legendary Manhattan monuments and will live within the epicentre of New York City's thriving cultural institutions, including MoMA, Lever House, Grand Central Station and Rockefeller Center.

Within One Hundred East Fifty Third Street building's first two floors is an innovative world-class food experience encompassing a uniquely curated food hall and three star restaurant with direct access for residents.  The programming and amenities for One Hundred East Fifty Third Street are thoroughly curated and will include significant location-specific art installations, a 60' by 15' swimming pool, wellness facility, spa and residential library and sitting rooms. As in all of Rosen's properties, a unique fusion of art and architecture will be present throughout the building.

Leonard Steinberg, President of Compass and responsible for sales and marketing for the project, said: "We are thrilled to launch sales at One Hundred East Fifty Third Street. There has been immense interest in this architecturally significant building and there is high demand for beautifully designed, contemporary residences in the Midtown cultural district."

Kai-yan Lee, Managing Director of Vanke Holdings (USA), said: "Vanke is delighted to be partnering with Aby Rosen and RFR Holding on the One Hundred East Fifty Third Street project.  The appointment of Foster + Partners is complementary with Vanke's utilisation of world-renowned architects on projects throughout the world."

One Hundred East Fifty Third Street can be previewed at www.100E53.com.  The sales gallery is located at the Seagram Building, 375 Park Avenue, 15th Floor. Viewings by appointment only – please call +1 212-9139082 to arrange.
