This collaboration of Danish creative minds - Kilo founder Lars Larsen, creative advisor Jonas Hartz (Hz), BIG partners Jakob Lange and Bjarke Ingels - with Copenhagen restaurant group Cofoco has resulted in South American eatery, Llama; a project that merges the flamboyant with the understated.

This new restaurant is one of the first in the region to draw upon the flavours of the South American continent. The menu takes its inspiration from Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, and additionally Mexico. Despite the vibrant aesthetic, the designers' goal was to turn traditional South American influences into a contemporary Copenhagen public space, blending Latin flair with Danish sensibility,

Previously, the basement environment of Llama leant it a dark and impersonal atmosphere. Larsen and Lange transformed the space, opening it up and connecting it to the city. The walls and floors are lined with handcrafted Mexican cement tiles, melding iconic design influences from Latin America with "Copenhagen cool".

Architecturally, the transformation is notable. The interior design carries a number of main drivers - colourful tiles, black furniture, a vibrant green wall, and brass light fixtures - that together create a spatial configuration conducive to linked experiences throughout the restaurant.
