Located in California, USA, DesertSol is a solar-powered house designed and built by students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Recently having received top honours at the International Solar Decathlon, a competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the project features LED recessed lighting fixtures donated by Nora Lighting and DECOLights, Inc.

Twenty teams of university students were challenged to design, build and operate solar powered houses that were cost effective, energy-efficient and attractive. It was a valuable opportunity for keen students from multiple disciplines to demonstrate innovative ideas, and to showcase the long-term advantages of LED lighting.

DesertSol interiors were illuminated with LED recessed lighting fixtures donated by Nora Lighting and DECOLights of Las Vegas, NV.
