A private family home complete with luscious green wall has been completed in London by Stephen Fletcher Architects. Just a few weeks after completion, a property in Cale St, London SW3 (also featured on WAN) and designed by Stephen Fletcher Architects was sold.
The same clients then decided to buy this additional property around the corner and embark upon another renovation project with Stephen Fletcher Architects. As at Cale St, little remains of the original property, which was pretty much stripped back to the structural shell.
A basement was excavated beneath the entire property and gardens, a structural glass rear extension erected, and sections of 'walk-on' glazing and a double-height rear lightwell installed. The property now features a series of dramatic and colourful spaces which maximise daylight and the illusion of space, and also belie the rather sober front elevation.
