Designed by The Stripe Collective, "&MADE By Bruno Menard" was inspired by 3 Star Michelin Chef Bruno who, although rooted in the classic, has spent a lifetime absorbing popular culture and a wealth of international experience. This new space is a playful reinvention that reflects the adventurous spirit of Bruno and his food. It embraces an evolution that brings together French Classic, Punk, Contemporary, Urban and Digitalism in a unique way. The resulting visual dialogue is best described as Transformative Digi-Punk.
In true Stripe fashion the designers have taken what is expected and turned it upside-down. The lines and materials within the space all are rooted in the traditional then re-imagined into new or unconventional shapes and forms:
Classic French Panelling makes a rebellious transformation, jumping from wall to ceiling, where Victorian period fabric conduits connect and form "circuit board" patterns. All of which proceed to morph into industrial pendant lighting that terminates the visual journey in an illuminating way. Ceramic - typically employed though-out French interiors - is used in several interesting new ways, bridging the gap between early 19th Century and present-day Urbanism. Ceramic Ambient Lighting, inspired by Pop Art forms, provides an interesting juxtaposition against classic mosaic. Traditional French Mosaic Tiles become complex pixelated murals containing quirky characters and cheeky phrases binding the digital world with an age-old technique. The classic black and white Metro Tiles go against traditional expectations and application norms by vertically merging together like sound levels on an old-skool stereo - all of which, truly reinforce the concept of Transformative Digi-Punk.
The Stripe collective has been responsible for designing some of Singapore's most interesting bars and restaurants, for example Sabio and 83 Club Street. The combination of Chef Bruno Menards culinary vision and The Stripe Collectives design sensibility makes "&MADE By Bruno Menard" the perfect new addition to Singapore's dining landscape, an experience not to be missed.
Much of the design has been hand crafted by The Stripe Collective and our trusted artisans. All elements have been made from the highest quality materials (including recycled timbers where possible) meaning every detail of our project has been carefully considered from top to bottom.
