Turner + DeCelles is designing a new headquarters office building for the Zhejiang Hengyi Group Co., Ltd., Hangzhou, China. To be located on a prominent site in the Xiaoshan District, the tower will rise to 50 floors.

“We are honored to be working on such an important building for such a prestigious client” noted Kenneth Turner, AIA, Design Partner. “Our design is purposely spare, intended to exemplify the essential qualities of the client’s business culture where ambition, hard work, efficiency and high quality are humbly embraced as virtuous. We are designing a building that is elegant and finely crafted but never boastful.”

The 100,000 sq m program includes a 200m-tall office tower clad primarily in vision glass; a four level podium encased in glass with stone accents; and a below grade transit superstation housing conference facilities, retail shops and parking. Approximately half of the office space will be held for future growth but leased to tenants on an interim basis.

BMP Project Consulting is serving as Program Manager and Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd is the Local Design Institute based in Shanghai. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2013.
