New tasting room and brewery renovation

Warehouse transformed into iconic landmark brewery

The new tasting room and brewery for Georgetown Brewing Company uses hot-rolled steel, bold graphics, and oversized operable sliding doors to transform a nondescript warehouse into an iconic landmark in an industrial neighborhood. Two oversize steel doors positioned at the corner of the building slide open to reveal the front entrance. The doors not only complement the building’s industrial character but they function as a large billboard to passerby. Inside the tasting room, the original steel and concrete ceiling was uncovered and left exposed. Customers can view the action of the brewery through a glass wall. Architects worked with local fabricators to design the bar-top counter with wood salvaged from the old Rainer Brewery, and steel logos and graphics on the outside of the building. Retail sales at the brewery have jumped 30% after the renovation.
