ARUP to sponsor WAN's first Engineering Award and 21 for 21 Award in 2012

World Architecture News (WAN) is delighted to announce that Arup will be sponsoring the WAN 21 for 21 Awards and the inaugural WAN Engineering Awards for 2012.

Due to launch later this year, WAN believes that this new specialist award is a significant evolution of the WAN AWARDS programme and a first step towards our new planned portal World Engineering News. We are looking forward to getting involved with Arup who will work with us in setting the agenda and generally raising the bar, bringing the two fields even closer together.

Tom Foulkes, Director, Head of Marketing (UKMEA), Arup explains: 'Arup are delighted to be involved in this inaugural award and look forward to helping shape World Architecture News’ approach to the very exciting engineering portal they have planned for next year. We believe that this award and the new portal will reinforce the bridge between architecture and engineering and provide a unique platform from which to showcase engineering achievements to the global construction community.'

21 for 21

The WAN 21 for 21 Award is an initiative aiming to highlight 21 architects who could be the leading lights of architecture in the 21st Century: outstanding, forward-thinking people and organisations who have the demonstrable potential to be the next 'big thing' in the architectural world. 2012’s entries are now in and we await the jury meeting for their verdict. Chaired by Peter Murray, a top-level international jury panel of influential figures in global architecture will certainly have their work cut out for them with 162 entries to select from! Arup will also be hosting an exhibition of the work featured in this year’s awards at their London HQ.

The WAN Engineering Awards will be open for entries shortly. In the meantime, if you have any queries, please contact James Forryan on +44 (0)1273 648 935 or james.forryan@wantoday.com
