California-based Jacobs Engineering announced Tuesday that it has acquired KlingStubbins, a highly regarded design firm specializing in the higher education and science and technology markets with 500 employees located in the United States and Asia.

In a company press release announcing the acquisition, Jacobs President and CEO, Craig Martin said the move ‘will deepen Jacobs architecture and engineering practice allowing it strengthen its service offerings to its global clients and likewise provide KlingStubbins clients with access to significantly increased capabilities and support’.

Jacobs, a multinational company, was ranked #2 in the Engineering and Construction Industry in the 2010 Engineering News Record rankings and is one of Fortune Magazine’s ‘Most Admired Companies’.
