Goettsch Partners - James Goettsch, FAIA

How does business in 2011 compare to that in 2010? Do you expect opportunities to increase in 2012?

We are up about 10% over 2010 and it looks like our firm will have a record year in terms of net fees in 2011. For 2012, we are hoping to be at or near this same level.

Which areas – both geographically and in terms of sector – are providing the most work at this point in time, and which are falling behind? Why do you think this is so? In which areas do you expect opportunities to increase in 2012?

China is providing the most opportunities in all commercial sectors this year, as the major cities continue to grow. The Middle East did nearly stop for a period and is now showing some promise with opportunities in select areas, such as Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. The U.S. has been the slowest for us this year, but we have reason to believe that next year will be stronger, given several opportunities currently being discussed.
