2011 BAU Trade Fair in Munich is most popular in history with 238,000 visitors

The World’s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials and Systems, BAU 2011 has smashed all previous records of attendees as 238,000 visitors travelled to Munich over the six day event from 17th-22nd January. BAU is the global leader in trade fairs offering visitors over 2,000 exhibits in a 180,000 sq m venue, with state of the art technology, innovations and materials from international producers.

Nearly 60,000 visitors hailed from outside Germany, upping the proportion of foreign visitors to 25%, while the proportion of planners and architects attending the fair was increased by 22% on previous years. Almost fully booked a year before the event actually commenced, the international showcase failed to disappoint, with 97% of attendees rating the fair as ‘excellent to good’, stating that they intended to return to the next event in 2013.

Toby Redington attended the event for WAN, and commented: “Exhibitors work hard to showcase products and expertise to an audience keen to see new products. It is great to see the time and effort manufacturers have taken on producing high quality stands so that visitors could really get to grips with a huge variety of construction products and technical information.”

Toby Redington and Exhibition Director for BAU, Mirko Arend officially announced the winners of the WAN Awards Product Sector at BAU 2011. Click here for more details on the successful entries.
