O1A present sumptuous new project - Yas Island Yacht Club in Abu Dhabi

Perched on the water's edge on 25 sq km Yas Island is an undulating, voluptuous new form courtesy of Omiros One Architecture. The Yas Island Yacht Club proudly stands as an iconic landmark for Yas Marina, as its pale exterior shell catching the light reflecting off the Persian Gulf. Omiros One’s first major project in the Middle East, the firm’s principal and founder Mr Omiros Emmanouilides describes the design as: “a composition of dynamic and fluid forms that link the buildings to the nautical theme, the heritage of the location and the new F1 character of Yas Island. The Yacht Club is designed to excite, inspire and strengthen the concept that is Yas.”

Opulence plays a major part in this production, as the entire entity that is Yas Island centres on a thoroughly luxurious lifestyle. As such, the 5-star Yacht Club offers restaurants, bars, lounges, function rooms, outdoor decks and a 45m observation tower, with design and finish clearly exemplifying that money is no object here. When it comes to the internal 'wow-factor', the grand foyer is anchored by a majestic winding staircase leading up to an almost hypnotic glass apex, some 15m above floor level.

Dotted around the building are various water features, set into lush landscaped gardens, arranged in curvilinear forms to reflect the Yacht Clubs sinuous lines. A matrix of crystal LED façade lights embedded in the exterior shells enable a transformation into giant pixilated viewing screens. The Marina also features a sumptuous signature hotel and intends to host seasonal festivities and events. With the construction of the Yas Marina Circuit completed in October 2009, Yas Island and Abu Dhabi are currently gearing up to play host to the inaugural F1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this November.
