Egeraat's plan helps capital city 'catch up'

Erick van Egeraat’s latest project is an ambitious 150,000 sq m mixed-use development located on the banks of the Danube River in Bratislava. Developed by J&T Real Estate, River Park will boast the Kempinski Hotel - the first 5-star accommodation in Slovakia, set to open this Spring - as well as 25,000 sq m of office space, more than 200 luxury apartments and retail space.

Part of the Kempinski Hotels & Resorts group , the L-shaped hotel encompasses: 263 guest rooms housed on eight floors; restaurant and bar facilities; meeting rooms; and a wellness centre including pool, sport area, relaxation, beauty and treatment zones.

In addition to the hotel, Erick van Egeraat’s masterplan includes the River House residential building, public spaces and the promenade - a dynamic 2-kilometre walkway. The new waterfront complex adjacent to the 5-star hotel was realised under the supervision of Erick van Egeraat.

The centre block of the development, the River House residential building, hovers over the Danube, offering views of the river, and marks the area for all visitors and inhabitants arriving from the riverside or entering from the south by car.

Erick van Egeraat said: “Unlike other European capital cities, Bratislava obtained the status of a capital city just a few years ago. With the new state-of-the-art waterfront development the city is rapidly catching up. River Park significantly adds value to the city. Slovakia’s beautiful capital now offers a unique mix of imperial and modern architecture and is finally enjoying the quality of the riverfront to its fullest.”
