On a 125’ x 50’ inner-city corner lot two linear concrete block walls are constructed to define a garden. Within the garden a 1,650 sf. dwelling with 700 sf. garage are constructed. They take the form of a 25’ wide linear element that frames the garden to the street.

The structure is defined by a 12’ grid of 3” diameter pipe columns and wide flange beams that cantilever into the garden to form a continuous sunscreen for southwest oriented glass. The dwelling and sunscreen are clad with Rheinzink panels and the garage is painted hardy-board. The dwelling will eventually become trees-walls-shadows presenting a garden to the street.
