Carey Jones Architects has designed a residential led mixed use scheme which establishes the site as a new gateway for the Borough as part of the identified regeneration area. The development site at Edgware Road is a disused ‘brownfield’ industrial site, having been vacated by the previous users, Parcelforce, in December 2005. The site is of significant importance not only in terms of its location but also its status within the Cricklewood, Brent Cross and West Hendon Regeneration Area. Throughout the design stages, Carey Jones has been committed to replacing the existing disused industrial unit on the site with a mixed use development to help regenerate the area. The proposed development will comprise 472 new homes, including one, two and three bedroom apartments that are attractive to first time buyers, along with a high content of affordable housing and new commercial facilities, creating improved opportunities for local employment generation.
