Zaha wins planning in Lambeth

Zaha Hadid Architects' debut city academy project in Lambeth, London

Zaha Hadid Architects has won outline planning approval for its debut city academy project in Lambeth. The 11,000 sq m development, proposed on a 1.4ha site, will accommodate 1,200 pupils when it opens in September 2009. The ground floor of the four-storey building is designed like a podium and will contain facilities including a fitness suite and art rooms which will be used by students and the public.
