The Glass-House Community Led Design is running a workshop called Inspiring Professionals on 16 November in London. This workshop will bring together design and regeneration professionals to explore the principles and processes of demand-driven as opposed to a supply-led design. The workshop investigates the value of community involvement in the design process, inviting participants to share their relative experiences and to discuss Glass-House case studies of successful community led design projects with those involved. Inspiring Professionals explores the stages and process of user-led design, and with the participation of Urban Forum, its links with regeneration policy. The Glass-House has demonstrated that effective dialogue between skilled and knowledgeable communities and professionals who engage well with them enriches the process of regenerating the nation’s neighbourhoods. This joined up approach increases the opportunity for high quality design informed by local knowledge, leading to a clear sense of neighbourhood and to sustainable communities built on respect and community cohesion.
