Expansion, investment and CEO appointment

John Pearson, former chief executive and co-founder of Virgin Radio has joined WAN as its first CEO. John has spent the last 25 years in media working across press, magazines, TV and radio and brings experience of running the world largest radio website. Speaking from Paris this week John said, “Its great to be joining WAN at such an exciting time, it is our vision to build not only the world’s best portal for architects to showcase their work but also to become the essential global news and comment channel dedicated to architects-delivered digitally”Chairman Richard Coleman said in London today, “This marks a new era in WAN’s development and the existing team look forward to working with John to take the business to even greater heights.”John’s appointment is part of a massive expansion and investment program based on WAN’s phenomenal success, not only as a website but as a digital publisher. WAN’s News Review now has 38,000 subscribers across 100 countries, with this number increasing by 1000 every week. The recently introduced appointment section is already carrying vacancies across the globe including jobs in Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, Hong Kong and London.
