Aedas complete Stockley Academy

The new Academy, located next door to Stockley Park near Heathrow Airport provides 1,150 secondary school places and has replaced the former Evelyns Community School.Stockley Academy specialises in science and technology and provides state of the art facilities for staff, pupils and members of the local community including interactive whiteboards and laptop computers.State-maintained independent schools, set up with the help of outside sponsors, are the government's latest effort to drive up standards by replacing failing schools in struggling education authorities. Stockley Academy’s sponsor is Barry Townsley of Insinger Townsley Stockbrokers.Sarah Williams, Director of Aedas, comments: “The new Academy building has been designed to provide clarity of access, circulation and movement. It also includes a central flexible top lit space which can be used for exhibition, dining, careers fairs, or occasional whole school assemblies”.
