The elegant Mandeville Centre by Architectus wins the WAN Education Award 2017

We are excited to announce Architectus as winners of the WAN Education Award 2017 with their impressive design of the Mandeville Centre.

Judged by a panel of experts, the winning project was selected from the six shortlisted projects. This year’s jury included: Stafford Critchlow, Director at Wilkinson Eyre, Maria Nesdale, Education & Culture Practice Area Leader and Senior Associate at Gensler, Dominique Oliver, Equity Partner at Pollard Thomas Edwards, Keith Papa Architect Director at Building Design Partnership (BDP) and Katja Viltoft, Partner and Creative Manager at JJW Architects.

Jury Quotes

“It’s a very well balanced piece of architecture. Good quality and simple in materials.” Keith Papa

“It’s calm - they’ve managed to balance the learning and teaching spaces really well. That’s not easy to pull off.” Stafford Critchlow

“They have an interesting balance between the informal and the formal. It’s a beautiful piece of architecture - as architects we fall in love with this.” Katja Viltof

“There is a rich, calm and tactile selection of interior materials, which are beautifully detailed. The design has been cleverly choreographed to offer glimpses through, to provide both lofty and intimate space, and to enable a connection with the outside. Very impressive.” Dominique Oliver

“Fascinating form response that creates some interesting spaces internally.” Maria Nesdale

We would also like to congratulate C.F. Møller Architects with their project Copenhagen International School - Nordhavn on being awarded the Best in Europe regional winner within the WAN Education Award 2017.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank the jury, and all who entered their projects into this year’s WAN Education Award 2017.
