Loft conversions continue to be popular in New York but finding suitable candidates for renovation is getting trickier as properties get snapped up

This  acclaimed loft condominium project by developer MetroLoft was remastered by the architecture and interiors firm, CetraRuddy. This year, the address attracted more celebrity buyers per square foot than any other U.S. residential building, with new residents like Justin Timberlake, Meg Ryan and Harry Styles.

With award-winning lobbies, kitchens and landscaping, the Romanesque Revival block converted into 53 residences has been called "the last and largest landmark loft conversion for Tribeca,” completed 40 years after the loft movement started there in 1977. It has a few units still on the market, including one of Manhattan’s top-10 priciest — a triplex penthouse listed at $58 million — as it closes out on a half-billion-dollar sellout.
