Following steady growth over the last decade the World Architecture News (WAN) and World Interiors News (WIN) websites and the WAN Awards have been acquired by Haymarket Media Group.

Both the World Architecture News Awards and World Interiors News Awards businesses have experienced increasing entry volumes in recent years and we now attract almost 2,000 entries from world-leading architecture and design firms annually.

The World Architecture News and World Interiors News assets will become part of Haymarket’s Energy and Environment group, which also includes brands such as Environmental Data Services (ENDS), Windpower Monthly, Planning, Placemaking Resource and Horticulture Week.

The WAN Awards international architectural awards programme comprises 22 categories including Transport, Performing Spaces and Waterfront Architecture. Each category is run annually and judged by an prestigious panel of international experts.

The WIN Awards recognises and celebrates excellence in international interior design. The 2015 Awards event welcomed 250 of the biggest names in the industry with designers, architects, developers and clients from over 20 countries.

Michael Hammond, Editor-in-Chief, WAN said: “I am delighted that we will be working with Haymarket to develop the WAN and WIN brands. Our global customer base, developed over the last ten years, when combined with Haymarket’s events and marketing expertise, will enable us to realise the full potential of our awards programmes in Architecture and Interiors.”

Philip Swinden, Managing Director, Haymarket Business Media, said: “For Haymarket, this exciting addition of World Architecture News and World Interiors News to our portfolio helps to solidify our position in the Built Environment market.

“The acquisition also creates a fantastic opportunity for us to bring together professional audiences committed to the planning and design of great new places by combining the expertise of WIN and WAN with our market-leading media and information services already serving the planning and placemaking communities. The deal also enables us to develop a stronger global presence across built environment -- an important and fast-growing market for Haymarket.”

WAN and WIN will continue to operate from Brighton with the deal is expected to complete by the end of November.
