New LDA Design masterplan celebrated at the UK Landscape Institute Awards 

UK-based independent design, environment and sustainability consultancy, LDA Design, has been recognised by the Landscape Institute in the UK for its work. In Russia, the practice has designed the masterplan for Gorky Park and won the competition to design the masterplan for the well-known Moscow industrial site known as Serp and Molot, working closely with client Donstroy.

LDA Design won three awards from the Royal Chartered Institute for landscape architects, including the highly-coveted Presidents Award and College of Fellows Award, and was ‘highly commended’ in two further categories at the Landscape Institute Awards 2014.

Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon: received the President’s Award and the Strategic Landscape Planning category. Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon will be the World’s first man-made energy-generating tidal lagoon.

Adapting to Climate Change – Launching the Debate in the Lower Ouse Valley: This project won the College of Fellows Award for Climate Change Adaption.

Battersea Power Station Pavillion and Pop-Up Park: LDA Design was ‘highly commended’ in the Best Design for a Medium Scale Private Development category. Battersea Power Station is a significant regeneration project in London.

Burgess Park: LDA Design was ‘highly commended’ in the Best Design for a Large Scale Public Development category. Burgess Park is one of South London’s biggest parks.

Wandle Park, Croydon: This project, entered by client Croydon Council was ‘highly commended’ in the Large Scale Public Development category.

Andrew Harland, Senior Partner at LDA Design who led the Russian Park transformations, said: “To be recognised by our Royal Institute is a great achievement and rewards our team’s hard work. Our aim is to create some of the most original, high quality, sustainable schemes, building on our work at the London 2012 Olympic Park and all the other large and small schemes we have the privilege to be part of.”
