Leading architects, designers and artists present 100 views around The Shard

The Shard has been chosen for this year's 10x10 Drawing the City event, run by charity Article 25, which showcases and auctions a range of artworks to raise money to build projects for the world's most vulnerable communities.

On 27 November, the 24th floor of the Shard will host a wide range of artworks from many of the leading lights of the architecture world, and other well-known artists and designers, including Lord Norman Foster (Patron of Article 25), Sir Terry Farrell, Antony Gormley, Zandra Rhodes, Conrad Shawcross, Celia Birtwell, and set designer Es Devlin. The panoramic views from The Shard will provide a spectacular backdrop to the display of 100 works of art

Online bidding takes place between 4-25 November and the invitation-only auction hosted by Robert Elms of BBC London is on 27 November.

10x10 is Article 25's flagship fundraising event, which takes its name from the grid of 100 squares laid over an area of the city, which this year has The Shard at its centre. Each of the participants is allocated a square of the grid and donates an original artwork inspired by the buildings and public space within their square.

"Article 25's 10x10 charity auction is a terrific showcase of London creativity in support of some of the world's most vulnerable communities. It's heartening to see leading lights in design and property coming together for such a worthy cause. I hope everyone attending the auction or bidding online will be inspired to dig deep and help make a difference to the lives of people across the globe," said Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

Last year, the 10x10 Auction raised £90,000, which was used to design and build best-practice Street Children's Centres across Africa. This year, Article 25 is aiming to raise over £100,000 to support essential healthcare building projects in the developing world.
