Asuncion Berenguer completes cluster of 280 townhouses in Pasig City, Philippines
Asymmetry, dynamic geometry and pockets of green. This was Asuncion Berenguer Inc.’s formula for Alveo’s new residential community at Pasig City, in the Philippine capital of Manila. The project aims to create a modern, warm and intimate residential address inside the progressive city of Pasig.
The project is composed of 280 3-bedroom unit townhouses with lot sizes ranging from 91 to 117 sq m, spread across 6.5 hectares of land with a clubhouse at the heart of the development. An outdoor basketball court, two children’s playgrounds, jogging trails and swimming pools were designed to create an atmosphere that nurtures family bonding and promotes interaction among neighbours.
The amount of public spaces is maximised with the development of 3 main parks and several pocket parks. Every block is comprised of 4 to 6 townhouses, following a small cluster designed for privacy. Each residential unit is distributed into two or 3 floors with a 127-183 sq m floor area, making interior areas spacious and allowing for natural light and ventilation.
Each townhouse/residential unit is broken down into a play of volumes that seem to separate themselves from each other as they settle into place. In the process, interior spaces lend themselves to the exterior environment as they are exposed to a façade or embraced by balconies. This play on geometry breaks the monotony of a townhouse typology while keeping to a harmonious rhythm as a whole.
Put together as a block, the rear section of the units opens up to private mini gardens, allowing the homeowners a small pocket of the outdoors within their homes, summing up to a refreshing core of light and ventilation for each townhouse, thus supporting the green setting for this modern and sustainable community.
