Wind turbines to grace the top of stepped offices for China Communications Bank
A glossy new office block has been proposed for the banks of the Min River by Kalarch Design Group. The firm has been commissioned by the China Communications Bank to design its Fuzhou Headquarters, resulting in a shimmering 100m-high tower overlooking the scenic riverfront. The capital and one of the largest cities in Fujian Province, Fuzhou is known for its picturesque landscapes and backdrop of striking mountain ranges.
Kalarch Design Group has actively engaged with these natural attributes by stepping the building form of the China Communications Bank’s Headquarters away from the neighbouring Min River to provide a series of terraces for building users to enjoy. Three generously-sized terraces have been formed for use by office workers, available for both formal and informal meetings.
The commercial tower will also incorporate offices for rent to external companies alongside the employees of China Communications Bank. At the top of the structure, Kalarch Design Group plans to incorporate a series of wind turbines to harness the potential natural energy available at the site and aid the sustainable workings of the building.
